If you’re getting a new pet, and especially if it’s your first pet, definitely don’t choose Northgate Vet. My first appointment was alright, Dr. Hazard seems kind and caring over the phone and answered my questions. However the administrative side of things is a disaster. The second time I came it turns out they had not saved a copy of my dogs medical records. Seems like a pretty basic thing to do. They took my dog inside anyways and I frantically got my roommate to text me a picture of his records so that I could make sure they didn’t give him the wrong vaccines. Super unprofessional. Since then I have had a few health concerns with my pup and every time I call they are no help. I know they are busy due to COVID and I totally understand that but you could at least take a few moments to answer some questions. Last time I was in they told me my dog had an ear infection (which they only found out because I asked them to check his ears) but gave me no insight as to why he may have gotten one, how I can prevent this from being a chronic thing, what the treatment is, etc. Turns out the meds they gave him may have made him sick, but I haven’t been able to talk to them about that since they shut me down on the phone every time. I’m at the point where if I’m concerned about my dog and I’m reading articles online telling me to consult my vet, I feel like there’s no point in even trying. I know they’re gonna say “uh, idk, take him to the ER.” If I’m paying this place this much money, I’d like to find someone who will answer a few simple questions.

Loving, caring, exceptional service. Dr Phillips has been our vet for 15 plus years and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Wouldn’t take my cats anywhere else. Such loving and compassionate caregivers. Veterinarians very proficient and they take the time to explain every detail. The techs are second to none, Always have a sense of urgency but a smile on their face! Thank you for the great care!

My cat's breath had turned into the smell of rotting corpses. Every other vet was booked for weeks. After checking him out, it was decided he needed teeth pulled. After radiology, it was determined that his gum disease was so bad that he needed 18 pulled. The expense strained my budget, being a gig worker, partially unemployed and a full time student. The surgery was done with skill and precision. He healed in half of the allotted time. It is worth the cost for a better life for my pet.

Brought my new puppy in for her initial visit and received decent care. The office is clean and convenient. The doc spent lots of time answering questions and had great bedside manner, but subsequent visits grew more and more frustrating. I found myself meeting with a different vet each visit. The front desk consistently struggled with everything from billing to the meds to send me home with. The vets I did meet with seemed to misdiagnose every issue my pet had. The issues that needed care were missed or overlooked and the issues that would naturally resolve were treated with expensive diagnostics and unnecessary medication. I wanted to love this place because it’s so close to my home, but I just couldn’t make it work.
