A cute brunch and dinner place located in the Melrose market in Capitol Hill. The menu is made of food sourced locally and changes often based on what type of food they can get. You never know what’s going to be on the menu when you go. Everything is served family style so you have a chance to be able to try everything on the Menu. Some of the menu items are common staples: like charcuterie and yogurt, but they are often sure to change the menu for what they are able to get from their suppliers.

An intimate setting with an open kitchen and great food with top quality ingredients. A good option for a special occassion dinner such as a birthday. The menu here changes daily and for me that's a good enough reason to visit again. The service is impeccable and they also have an extensive wine list.

We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice and helpful. The food was very good, but I thought the dessert could be improved upon. The cocktails at the bar were great. I liked the carrot salad and it was surprisingly rich. The cheese plate came with a surprisingly large amount of crackers. Overall a very good meal and a nice experience at the bar when we didn't have a reservation.

Sitka and Spruce is in a beautifully charming old building. There are huge windows that let in a lot of natural light. The decor is both rustic and perfectly polished. The menu is small and curated in the best possible way. They also have incredible drinks and hot beverages.

The dishes were delicious & unique but the service was very poor. We had the cauliflower dish, bread & butter (pictured), and the quiche with smoked salmon on top. LOVED the decor/setup!

I came to Sitka and Spruce for dinner with elevated expectations inspired by the frequently changing menu focusing on local ingredients. The atmosphere of the place was quite interesting – located inside a market, the restaurant floor is exposed to the noises, which adds to the character. I started with a bread and salad. The bread was simply fantastic. Salad was... a salad, although I liked the presentation. For the main course I ordered rabbit, which took about an hour to arrive and turned out to be dry and lacking in flavour. After discovering a large piece of plastic in the rabbit wrap I had to send the dish back to the kitchen. Disappointed, I haven't stayed for the desert that evening.

One of my favorite spots to have a nice meal with perfect service, in a bustling yet beautiful and secluded atmosphere in Capitol Hill. The menu is varied yet not overwhelming, using quality ingredients and a nice drink selection. I love the Columbia City baguette with whipped butter and sea salt. Usually able to share a few of their locally foraged plates as servings are not large. I’ve had success walking in during the week, but Fridays and Saturdays can get busy for dinner so recommend setting up a reservation. Also lovely for weekend brunch, but again can quickly get busy so plan ahead.

Very interesting place - it was not easy to spot from outside because it looked like a store. Indeed, it shares the building with a store, a cafe, another store, and maybe something else, but it was all nice and inviting. The food was pretty good, the drinks were not bad, although not impressive.
