Breathtakingly beautiful!! Many picnic tables. Restrooms are clean. There are also great areas to dig for beautiful Smokey quartz crystals. Day use area with a restroom. Tods is a pack in pack our area! Take your trash with you! When you get to the top you will see peaks and valleys! Dogs need to be on a leash.

Beautiful scenery. Thou can rock hound at this site. Plenty of topaz,quartz and other minerals to be found. I even found some gold flake. There is a look out point at the picnic area that overlooks 16 peaks. Even a kool natural pool that has water in it. There is a riding trail below the site you can reach by hiking down the mountain behind the rocks. Nice for foot hiking and rock hounding.
Nice rest stop when riding the Rampart area.
Our favorite spots along Rampart are in this area. There are picnic tables and toilets. Everything is pack in pack out so you wont find any trash cans. Also be aware that you are out in the wild and bears and other wild animals do live in the forests. Make sure you take all traces of food with you and drown out any fires you may have started. This recreational area is free to the public, but only remains so as long as we all do out part to keep things safe and clean.
Views limited. Abandoned car past week or more. Outhouses and picnic tables. Area mostly free of trash. Good for a quick break or meal. No water or electric. Cell signals weak to none
