Very historic site. I went there a couple of years ago (2016) but it was a very nice experience and beautiful historical monument. If you go there, I highly recommend the museum that is down the street from the bridge. Many historical civil rights artifacts are at the museum.

It was so great to be a part of this history! Just walking across the bridge and capturing images to share with everybody gives me a since of purpose and pride! I will definitely come back and bring my family to share this historic experience!

Historic place, worth knowing, its very friendly people. On the corner is a historic center and the young man who was there on Sunday October 3, a special treatment, super nice with all the people who arrived. Besides that the view from the bridge is beautiful.

Great historic sight. Emotional to walk across in the footsteps of great people. Go here and see this. Be sure to check out the murals and monuments at the one end of the bridge.l

As a civil rights tourist, it was easy to get to and park, I guess I didn't realize it was right downtown! And it's a cute riverfront downtown too, though businesses look like they're struggling. On the \town\ side, there's plenty of free street parking and a little passage under that end (and a guy selling books and giving tours if you want that.) On the other side is the excellent voting rights museum and where you'll find a little memorial park and a boardwalk. It's not well kept but it's not dangerous. You can walk across the bridge on either sidewalk, but don't try to cross in the middle--it's a pretty busy street and cars fly by.
