It was built between 117-138 AD. The temple was built in honor of Emperor Hadrianus. The column arrangement in front of the cult room has a pediment called the Syrian type. The reliefs on the frieze found inside the inner wall: The legend about the foundation of the city is told Karl Androklos hunts wild boar. The Amazons and the meeting of the gods are depicted. Around 300 AD statues of Emperor Theodosius, Diocletianus, Maximianus, Constantius Clarus were erected right in front of the temple, and they have inscribed bases.
Rich with history. Fascinating place. An absolute must for those who appreciate history.
Another historical attraction in Ephesus is the Temple of Hadrian, built before 138 A.D. by P. Quintilius and dedicated to the Emperor Harian when he came to visit the city from Athens in 128 A.D. This temple is one of the best preserved and most beautiful structures on Curetes street with a beautiful arch on the front facade, supported with four Corinthian order columns and considered an architectural masterpiece. Here you will also see the relief's of Medusa, statues and Medusa's head on the porch said to protect the city from enemies.
This Ephesus complex almost left ruins. If you like history, you will enjoy to here stories about these places and ruins. Even just ruins, many people took pictures here.
It is a beautiful monument like a temple which is located on the major road throughout Ephesus. I always see asian tourists making group photos infront of this beautiful monument.
