Kei Nantonaku

富沢窯跡は，市の南部にあり，JR長町駅の西約2.5の三神峯公園の南側に位置する。窯跡は三神峯丘陵南斜面の丘陵頂部に近いところに造られている。標高は5065mで，面積は約4,100である。昭和49年(1974)に古窯跡研究会によって埴輪窯跡1基の発掘調査が行われた。これ以外にも3基の窯跡が存在し，この一帯からは古代の瓦が採集されることから，これらは瓦窯跡である可能性もある。富沢窯跡出土の埴輪と同じ特徴をもつ埴輪は，仙台市内の名取・広瀬川流域の古墳から多数出土しており，この地域出土の埴輪の大多数を占めている。東北地方で発見されている唯一の埴輪窯跡であり，仙台市域の埴輪編年の基準となる重要な遺跡である。
