I enjoyed a beautiful lunch here. It was recommended to me by locals as a good place to have a course meal. The food was good, but the most memorable part of my experience there was playing with their greeting dog. Jindo's can be so sweet and playful!

I wanted to try Korean Royal cuisine, did my research and chose seokparang over others. There's a famous joint opened by the current masters of royal cuisine as well. One of the deciding factor was Michelin guide. Oh how I was very dissapointed. One of the worst aspect here is service. You'll notice in Korean restaurant the service is not very hospitable unlike in Japan. Some independent restaurant may have that friendly ahjumma but most chains dont. Here with the kind of price and level, I really dont think they deserve to be in the Michelin guide just by looking at the service. They hand out the food very rudely, spilling soups and clanking everything also very rushing. I was served by 3 different waiters/waitresses 2 of them have poor English and 1 good command of English, as I had made a prior booking and the other person could speak English at least it would be in the best interest of everyone for that English-speaking waiter/ress to serve my table. Forget that, even so, you should mind your body language, it is very perceivable whether you actually want to serve or not and I get the vibe that I am somewhat not welcomed. But I didnt raise any complaints as I didnt want to ruin my dinner any further. The food was not as flavorful as common Korean cuisine, I suspect thats how it should be but will have to try other restaurants to be certain. The yukkhae was marvelous and didnt smell. Others didnt stand out much even the sinseollo or Royal hotpot which was the star of the set. The environment is nice, you got drapes for each table making it feel more private and theres a garden outside though you cant view it. All in all would not come back, would not recommend and would discourage people to not go. Perhaps try that restaurant run by the two masters of the royal cuisine.

We went to celebrate something special, the staff put us in a room at the entry way for their own convenience even though they had tons of seats available. Their service was average at best for a Michelin star restaurant. Food was simple and very traditional, but for what they say they offer, it is below expectations. Just take photos of the beautiful ambience, have tea, but don't expect the best.

Love the building. It is a special place to visit because of the location and architectural value only. Food is mediocre and customer service is poor.
