I’m giving 5 stars for the staff that helped me a lot today even if they were so busy, and I had an issue with the fee needed to pay for administration of NIE (over an hour trying to find a bank that takes the payment). Overall the system is over complicated and the information is misleading sometimes, some forms doesn’t work or doesn’t have pdf but still must be printed, there aren’t many appointments available due to the covid adjustments, and in general it’s a stressful process. But after all people who was working today solved all the issues that I had and I could see that they were helping everyone and attending everyone with empathy and efficiently. They were polite and genuinely wanted to help. So if the system is probably 1-2 stars, the staff was 5 stars. P.s. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment (cita previa) online, do it at 8.30am and don’t bother to call. Have all the papers ready as early as you can before the appointment, and if you’ll have an issue they will help you in the office.

After the coronavirus happened, they changed the security gard and they treat people very rudely.
Trying to phone them is a waste of time. Trying to email them is just as infuriating. It seems they want to do the bare minimum, I've updated my address with them twice and they still sent my documents to the wrong address. I had one lady who was super nice but she still sent my documents to the wrong address. Overall it's been a stressful and unhelpful environment for me personally. Update : I went back for a third time. Documents went to wrong address again. Waited in line for an hour and when my number was called to the desk and I sat down. She almost instantly put me to the side and told me to wait while she called forward 2 other people who were waiting behind me. After she helped them she came back and handed me a paper and moved on before I had time to ask my questions. This time I moved in front of her so she couldn't dodge me. She told me I had the right documents for my appointment the next day and everyrhing I wanted to hear apparently.... I go to my appointment the next day and the man I spoke to told me He doesn't know why she would tell me that because they weren't the right documents! Before it took him 2 minutes to tell me this. I sat in that chair waiting for his attention for 20 minutes because he had to help all his coworkers who apparently had extreme memory loss and couldn't figure out how to do their own job and he was the brain of the operation and the only one who seemed to be able to answer their thousand different questions. Then he just tells me. Sorry I can't help you and I have to go through that excruciating process twice in one day all because that ignorant woman told me my documents were correct when in fact they were not. If there is a hell - this is a level of it.
The processes take forever, to book your appointment you have to register online, but apparently it doesn't work, always shows an error: ''Se ha producido un error inesperado. Por favor, inicie de nuevo el proceso de cita.'' When I finally got the process started and came to collect my N.I.E, they couldn't find my application anymore and asked me to come later sometime. Reasons why? They just ''might have lost it'' After a week, they tell me that it's too late, I should have come earlier and they don't have my N.I.E anymore. In the entire Foreigners Office, no one can speak English (not a word), so you're lucky if you can make a couple sentences in Spanish. This is not such a big issue, but just very surprising.
Solo puedo decir qué pena tan grande de mi país, y qué verguenza de servicio público al ciudadano. Si Larra levantara la cabeza no podría creer lo poco que hemos avanzado en tanto tiempo. A seguir aguantando, vivan las caenas.
Nunca hay información clara, atienden de mala manera y no respetan el horario que tienen expuesto, cierran 40 minutos antes de lo establecido como horario de atención.
Dejan el teléfono descolgado, yo me quedo sin palabras. Para poder pedir información de la renovaciónde la tarjeta de residendia de mi mujer, madre mia.
La verdad muy muy agradecido con los funcionarios de Oficina de Extranjeria. Han sido amables durante mi tramite, me han facilitado toda la información. Me sorprendio la rapidez con la que resolvieron mi trámite. Recomiendo a los usuarios utilizar el email como medio de comunicacion, es mucho mas ágil que el teléfono.
