We were there at 11am, there were hardly any clients not more than 5 there. My son asked the officer perquisites to renew passport but forgot to bring his old one. He was told in such cases he will get a warning for round 1 but a fine for round 2. They checked details after he handed his i/c and confirmed his passport already expired. We told him we will come some other time so he advised us to scan their QR code to fix an appointment before thinking of coming again.

One of the best government agencies i have been engage with.. The staff is very friendly and helpful all the counter is open,they tooked around 5-10 min per customer,plenty of seats available while waiting..

When to this place on 4th day of CNY at 4.30pm but was turn down because there is no more Q number for afternoon session, got to wait until 8pm for mew Q number, so I left. Decided to try my luck today , got Q number at 4.50pm and completed all process at 5.30pm... very efficient .. great job .
Efficient and friendly, absolutely correct. Very understanding staff, helpful with a smile. There was a system issue for a bit, emanated from HQ, but I could see how hard they tried to resolve it and keep me comfortable. Good job guys. They sacrifice a lot to work until 10pm on weekdays.
No official updates in their website for their operating hours during ramadan, so went in last evening :-( Then this morning around 10am come in again but didn’t disappointed us with efficient & helpful officers, crowds not much and we collected the renew passport within half an hour only but be careful to check on the expiry date upon passport collection as mine lost one month due to their wrong calculation (i renewed on 30May2019 and my old passport will expire on 30Dec2019 but now the new one stated 30Nov2024). Some points to highlight in order to have more smooth process during taking photo at the counter: 1. No contact lense (a bit doubt on this requirement). First time been requested to take out contact lense even though wearing clear type without any enlarged or color type. 2. Can’t wear light collar shirts/coats, must be dark color like the best is black. 3. No fringe to cover your forehead, must show entire forehead.
Staff are efficient. At the counter,service are fast. However instructions are sorely lacking and unclear. Those with kids be informed that you need photocopy of NRIC of the parent and those of the kids. None of these were mentioned anywhere on website, at UTC noticeboard etc. Last minute we had to scramble to find a photocopier and were delayed about 10 queue numbers. Totally waste of time. Please update your instructions.
5 stars for pleasant staff attitude and efficient in processing/attending your request once you get your turn. Sharing the waiting time today for others to estimate- on Sunday, arrived at 8.30AM queue was long already. Got my number after 1h queue at 9.30AM no. 1180. At 10.30AM the queue was empty, and ppl walking-in at the time got queue no. 1300. Officer said there are ‘some’ numbers left I didn’t ask exactly how many. At the time of writing this around 11AM, the current processing number is around 2040 & 1100. 4 stars for general experience since there are rooms for improvement- special lines for kids/OKU/senior citizen (prolly got special numbers but don’t see any special queue line, maybe need to ask officer directly), install more fans around waiting area, advertise more on documents checklist instead of having to get the green form and read at the back of form, promote online passport renewal, offer appointment timeslot/online booking Update: 12noon nombor giliran sudah habis. Nombor current being processed is 1163.
