Garry and Mille are great hosts, very friendly and helpful, at a beautiful site overlooking rolling hills echoing with sheep bleets and bird calls. I can't recommend this site enough.... In fact I'm not because I can keep it all to myself

Great views, difficult for large motorhome. Very windy. Convenient for cycle track.

I've just stayed 2 nights on this wonderful site owned by 2 lovely people. I came here just to test my batteries and go off grid in my VWT5 van. The site does have electric hook up but I didn't need it. I know this area very well, as I only live 11 miles away but when parked up, you could be anywhere and the view is stunning, bring binoculars if you come here. Curlews were calling in the fields around the site. There is a lovely little walk through the village, past a hidden church and then down the fields to the Trans Pennine Trail, once on the TPT, you can go to Hull in one direction and Southport in the other, if you have the time that is!! The first day was sunny but the rest of the time it rained but it didnt matter or spoil it, it gave me chance to try my awning for the first time, which was perfect. However, by this off grid test I found out my battery system was faulty and my main battery was flat!! A good friend of mine arrived with a spare battery and some jump leads, which got me going, Gary also came to help but we didn't need his rescue service, which was kindly offered. This didn't spoil my trip because it was a learning curve and I discovered an electrical fault on my van which has now been booked into a Campervan Specialist for repair. I will definitely be going back, because its so peaceful and calm there.
