Last year they said I couldn't bid for the housing and gave me wrong advice went to frist point in Dorchester for advice this year and told them what was said last year and the advice I got was shelter was wrong and I did have a full duty for housing even the council was wrong aswel. Dont trust this place in what they tell you they will lie to you trust me go to frist point in Dorchester .

To make one thing clear, people are people, im not racist or sexist or anything like that, but i have a right to speak the truth and this is the truth. But i couldn't help but notice that anyone who was foreign who walked in there got really special treatment, me as an English person and homeless at the time, was offered nothing direct, and nothing indirectly, along with my partner being looked at in a lustful way, and quite frankly, the entire thing itself is pointless, i left more offended then i was helped and again i was homeless at the time, the person didn't seem to care about my homeless situation that was clear. i had a reply from the person who was supposed to be helping me at the time, the same person who kept looking at my partner in a weird way when we initially went down there, except he didn't reply until AFTER i was then given a home by the council, which i had to fight for in the end legally. Which basically means, they were useless, of no use, didn't want to help, these aren't people who care so don't bother going there for at best, pretence and a handful of leaflets and advice papers that are of no use.

Have helped my partner with troublesome letting agents and landlords - they're all lovely. Went above and beyond to help us, to which were eternally grateful for.

they are lucky to get one star! shelter is a joke they say they protect tenants but what about the landlords that they tell to stop paying rent so they can get rehoused! I don't understand how shelter gets away with it, honest landlords trying to make a living and just because the tenants might want a bigger place or get to lazy to work shelter will tell them to stop paying the rent and wait to be evicted so the landlord will not only lose months of rent but will then have to pay solicitors which can run into the 1000s. I do not understand why the government sits back and lets this happen! most landlords might have to sell and end up in debt while the tenants get rehoused! even if the tenants fall behind on rent and they agree a payment plan with the landlord arrange to meet shelter will advise not to do this and wait to be evicted! any landlords reading this shelter is the reason why your tenants wont leave when the notice is up because shelter will advise if they leave they are leaving voluntarily they will not get rehoused but if they are evicted by bailiffs they are being forced out so they will get rehoused. they should be stopped!

Was advised to go to the Shelter drop in service by a BCHA housing advisor who is supposed to give housing advice. So I guess this is where to go if you need help.
