SCAMMER ALERT. This company listed an advert for Nvidia RTX GPUs pre orders on Facebook marketplace, and there was a link on the Microchipz website. The add said pre orders of units would be fulfilled “around the end of Feb”. I was cautious so called before placing an order. Spoke to a man called Will who seemed genuine and I subsequently made an order for over 500 pounds. Will said he would provide regular updates on the order. After my payment was completed the mobile phone number on the website stopped working - I tried to call and text numerous times over a week “unable to connect”. There was also no answer on the landline, and no reply by email. The square site which the payment was put through has since been taken down, and so has the link to the pre order site. I did a bit of digging online and found Microchipz was dissolved 2 years ago. I believe either an elaborate website and identity theft has taken place. Or (more likely) Will has decided to use his failed business to scam people during a global pandemic. Whatever has happened here, I would advise people to BEWARE.
