We loved this campground! It is fully treed with mature, natural trees (none of the superficial just-planted mini trees that you see elsewhere). The kids loved the store with the ice cream and treats. Our campsite was large, with a nice fire pit. There was a ton of privacy between sites, which is hard to come by these days with campgrounds. Every worker we came into contact with was very friendly and helpful. The beach is not usable, so don't come here if that's an important feature for you. The sites do not have full hook-ups, but we still enjoyed it and would come again.

Great place to chill by a fire and enjoy your family. The bathrooms are clean and owners are super friendly but no place to enjoy the water unless you bring a boat.
Pros: New managers friendly and helpful. Very quiet campground. Showers and bathrooms well kept. Dump station included in fee. Front office gave out freezies to the kids at no charge. Most sites are well sized with 30A power. Water taps near the sites. Some close enough to use as city water hook-up as opposed to tank fill. Cons: Possible they expect people to be too quiet though as we heard a site being told to quiet down at 4pm. We are across the road and couldn’t hear their music and they definitely were not being loud, just talking. We appreciate quiet but that’s a bit much. The wood for sale was not good quality. Damp deadfall.
This was our first time here and we loved it! Sure, there’s no water access but we didn’t care; we only wanted somewhere quiet to camp. The bathrooms are spotless, management was very helpful and friendly, and the bucketful of wood was fairly priced and burned well. We initially planned to stay 1 night but we liked it so much that not only did we book a second night but we were able to move into a MUCH more private site with a fantastic view of the lake. Management was very accommodating in making these changes. We will definitely come back.
Hidden gem - this campground is hidden in a wildly forested area. A quiet place to kayak and birdwatch. The sites are huge, very private. Washrooms and showers are spotless. Left somewhat unattended for a few years, the new managers are working hard to revitalize the campground. Has water and electric services if you need.
Beverly and Ed were really good in accommodating my family. The place is being taking care of and looks like the owners are working on getting it to look better. They came around checking in to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. I would come here again. Yes the road was bad but that was due to all the rain and we were told at the entrance to be careful. One thing I would suggest is the sign going in. Make sure to drive straight through and not take the bend.
Here is how my experience went. Me and my pregnant wife along with our 2 year old were out for an afternoon drive as we are newly from the area and like to search out fun things to do. We are also avid campers. I pull up and I am very aware that many campsites do not like when people drive in to look around. In order to be respectful I stop at the check in location and walk in to see if it would be alright to drive the loop. I walk in the door and say good morning to an older gentleman that immediately looks me up and down very cautiously. I say we live in the area and are avid campers and are wondering if we can drive through the campsite to take a look. The owner says what kind of camping do you do in a weird tone. Confused by the question I said we have a bumper pull trailer that's 24 feet. He then said this is a "peace and quiet" campsite are you into that, in a very rude tone. I said yes, I have a family sir. He then snarled and said alright. I took a brief second to think and replied you know what sir that was extremely rude I'm good thanks. His only reply again in a snarl was OK. Now I'm 33 years old folks have visibly grey hair and a family in the truck. The only reason I can think of to be treated this way is because I was wearing a tank top that showed some tattoos. Don't waste your money giving it to people who don't deserve your business. There is a very cute little place down the road called stargazer ran by a lovely couple. From what I saw the place is an over priced dump anyway.
The new owners have done a great job trying to revitalize this campsite. The staff/owners are down to earth and genuinely care about your stay. We tented and the sites were spacious and well kept with power a fire pit and picnic table. The neighbor noise level was minimal with a nice barrier of trees between stalls. There are flush toilets and showers available to the campers. The walk to the beach is overgrown but again the owners are working on restoring the campground. Overall loved the stay and would return. Plus it is only 20 minutes away! Highly recommend for anyone looking to get away for the bustle of the city and relax for the weekend! 5/5!
