I actually visited this place years after taking little hikes of the castle “ruins.” If you haven’t been before, I would recommend checking out the “ruins” site first. The reason being, there are no ruins... it’s interesting to see how the grounds were laid out, and you can spend a lot of time imagining how it would have looked. Than you can check out the museum and see a large diorama of the actual layout. They also have artifacts from the castle grounds dating back pretty far. The museum is small, but I am surprised to even find a museum at all around here. It’s also free, so you can’t beat that.

Had to visit here to get the 100 Japan castle stamp rally. Inconvenient operation hours over summer wasted our time. They were really stingy with the stamp too. Like hand it to you, watch you use it and wait for you to hand it back like it's the one ring to rule them all. My precious....
地元の生きた歴史に触れるまたとない機会。 市内にある縄文時代からの複数遺跡から出土した展示物が並んでいる。 地元の人間ですら知らなかった事 また、ビデオでも、目玉となる志布志城跡の情報が詳細に視聴できる。城跡の復元予想のミニチュアも精巧にできており、驚かされる。 午前中にここによってから、志布志市街に郷土料理の昼食を摂り、城跡を見学する理解が深まってオススメです。

無料で入館見学が可能です。充実した映像や展示物で詳しい歴史を知れます。また、センター職員の方が丁寧に色々教えて下さり、志布志での良い思い出ができました。
志布志城跡に行く前に立ち寄りました。 日本100名城のスタンプがあります。 内城の復元模型や発掘調査で出土した遺物が展示されてます。
