We were really looking forward to our first trip to the Monument complex for my mates Birthday session and unfortunately we were very disappointed. The gate was opened later than specified on their website, and delayed the start to our session. After challenging this apparently 'it is winter hours now' we still paid 60 for our sessions rather than 40 for a winter session. Winter hours start from December 1st according to their website so we were misinformed. The toilet was really dirty and clearly does not get regularly cleaned. Staff banging posts in behind anglers swims whilst they were fishing, and with the amount of time in the week that no anglers can fish the lakes id of thought they may of left this kind of work until then to avoid spooking the fish and ruining anglers chances. They were also happy to let anglers cast straight over and into other anglers swims and not seem to be concerned about it. No-one answered the office phone the entire time we were there either. To sum it up far to many swims, no real interest in an anglers experience. It just seemed to be all about the money. And very expensive for the facilities provided and a shortened session. Doubt very much either of us will be back.

The lakes themselves are fantastic, the facilities themselves leave a bit too be desired. The gents loos were average but the toilet was blocked so we had to use the disabled/ladies toilet. This wouldn't have been too much of a problem apart from the fact that the security shutter didn't roll up properly so if the door was fully closed you were trapped inside. The reception door was off the hinges as well. On a positive though the staff were friendly and helpful.
Just done 36 hours on monument 2 what a lovely place to fish. I blanked this time but it was the first time on 2.but I believe 3 40s came out whilst I was there. Definitely returning. Great place staff are great and the baits are good too
Just got back from my first 36 hour session on monument 2 unfortunately blanked (so did everyone else on the pond ) great facilities with use of there cradles, barrows ,slings and landing nets theres also food delivery at night to the gate ie kebab,Chinese ect I would like to say a big thanks to the local fishermen who was always willing to help with there knowledge of the place and how to fish it just wasnt our day this time but we will be back for another go
Super fisheries, well maintained, comfortable pegs, toilets and shower if you need it. Oh and some superb fish as well.
