This place is perfect for kids. 6 and 9 year old kids plus 2 and 4 year old nephew and niece. Elder relatives sat on a wall in the ruins while kids and parents ran themselves silky playing Tig etc. Lovely little wooded area and lovely views. We all had a great time. The place isn't huge but for somewhere to take the kids where you can let them roam fairly independently this is awesome. Other families were doing similar things. Very nice for strolling couple etc as well

Never been before, interested in many ways , nice spot, the middle of nowhere, but worth a look.

Lovely ruin in nice grounds where we had a picnic. Not a very big place but nice to visit. Would have liked a few more information boards.

It's a large major house rather than a castle so manage your expectations - that said, is a big building which was interesting to visit. Stayed here for 10 minutes which was enough. It's a popular place for picnics and young children to play as it's got definite boundaries so they can't run off too far. A nice piece of history but not necessarily worth a long journey purely to visit it. Combine it with other things or if you're nearby definitely pop in. It's next to a church which has parking opposite it (no charge) probably enough for 20 cars or so (pure guess). You do need to walk through a gate and small wooded section so not 100% amenable to wheelchairs but accessible nonetheless on a dry day.

Myself and my daughter went to Wroxeter Roman Ruins before we decided to come here. It was a little hard to find, but when you know where you are going it's a beautiful find. Walking through the gate and then through the woods to then see the castle. We spent around 30 minutes here, looked around, listen to the birds and just chilled. It was a lovely find. It has a nice peaceful atmosphere to it.
