Good for kids
Nice peaceful place, helicopters from shawbury RAF nearby. Beautiful views, interesting place to spend half and hour or walk the dog. The Corbett's are buried in the graveyard next door, which is also worth a look around while you're there, if you like that sort of thing.

We had a wonderful time. Lived in Shrewsbury for 30 years and never been before. Great to learn about history. Excellent grounds for children to run around.
Nice ruins to walk around. Probably medium size ruins. Not on a hill, Surrounded by farmland and a church. Ornate on the outside, but simple on the inside.
This must have been a gorgeous place when it was in use. Even from the remains you can envisage how large luxurious and grand the building must have looked . It has some amazing stonework visible with carved animals . It is not a large site it has no cafe or toilet facilities but still well worth a visit . It is maintained by English Heritage but is one of their free to visit sites and is still owned by the original family who built it The Corbet family .
Italian Style Castle. Quiet impressive. No charge open. Boards explaining structure. Most people with children running and climbing spend 15mins than move on.
