If you’re going to start your journey though this historic town ! Make sure you start with a great breakfast... look no further. Before I started work I would go here. Food is always great. Really nice atmosphere and you’re down in the basement. Spooky in a highly haunted town!

Great historical pub with really friendly staff. Food was lovely, excellent selection of alcoholic and non-alcaholic beverages to choose from. Plenty of space inside to bring all your family and friends. Will be visiting again any time I am in Shrewsbury!

We have been to this public house on numerous occasions and always found it an acceptable place to eat with great food so we decided to go again seeing as we were in Shrewsbury. Our first appearance since covid but definately our last. We found a table that was clean amongst the ones that were not cleared and it tells you to order on line. Found this impossible so ordered at the bar which at one stage was three deep in customers. ( this was also swimming in beer) We were told that the app was intermittent. It was very busy and whilst waiting for food we noticed tables were not getting cleaned fast enough, as staff were too busy to cope with demand, so people were just reusing without, they did not take trace details, there was no soap in the toilets and overall we did not feel safe as standard were low compared with pre covid visits. We have a 2 rating as the food was lovely as always.

I went here with a workmate. He'd been here before many years ago but I hadn't. It had a good range of drinks and was well priced. The place is deceptively huge but doesn't look it at first. The staff were all really friendly and we both enjoyed our time in there. We'd definitely visit again.
