Situated at the top of the hill on Atherton Street, this church is an impressive sight. Once inside, there is small office/shop immediately on the left. Through a set of doors you're met with a glass wall, and a font to the left. Through the next glass doors is the main body of the church itself and it is both serene and beautiful, less ostentatious than other Catholic churches but still very impressive. The dome structure might be more at home in Italy than Wirral, but lends an air of quiet grandeur to the church. There are regular masses performed at this church, with all the ceremony you'd expect. The handful of people I met there were very friendly and welcoming and more than happy for me to look around.

A beautiful church with an amusing and sometimes dramatic history. Friendly and helpful priests who are dedicated to the parish community. The Mass here is in the Extraordinary Form and is celebrated reverently. I never tire of coming here.
This church which played an important role in the oil world war is currently undergoing a major renovation with help from English Heritage and the National Lottery. It is a particularly interesting church being Art Deco in design. Also of interest to liturgical historians for its use of the pre-1955 version of the Extraordinary Form for the Mass and various services during the day many of which are sung in Gregorian Chant as is the 1030am Mass on Sundays.
Our second home. We love this parish and priests! Everyone is so welcoming and kind.
Lovely welcome at this famous church, the Dome of Home, overlooking the Mersey. Large church with some lovely statues to the Virgin& Saints. Parking nearby. If you are keen, you can brush up on your Latin & join in a service.
