Very attractive collection of historical artefacts housed in a very charming classical building - the former City Hall, dating back to the 15th century.

A museum (that you have) to visit, no doubt! I liked it a lot: the atmosphere, the exhibitions, the design and the arrangements, all those very interesting items, the diversity of the offers and so on! The staff was polite but probably those people (that show me each room) have an administrative role - they cannot tell me too much details when I've asked them some questions! This was embarrassing and, of course, I did not like such a situation... But the Altemberger house, a patrimonial monument, is amazing and it also has a huge interior courtyard where you may discover different sculptural busts in metal (I think) of some (inter)national personalities from Romania. Probably this German family was very rich because the house is almost a palace - as I told you, is an amazing place to visit! One single complaint - they did not allow you to make pictures!!! Wow! Or, if you want it very much, you have to pay a lot of money! Look, the ticket is 18 lei, the tax for photography is 120 lei, more than ten times bigger than the price of the ticket! Impossible to understand this kind of approach, right?!
A place full of items with great historic importance, with polite guides. There are also independent exhibits to visit regularly, accessed thought the museum's court. Buying full tickets (45 lei) grants to access roughly to other 6 museum's as well, forming a circuit (which includes Brukenthal Musem and its art galleries), if you're looking to visit more.
Very big collection of ancient weapons. A very important collection of very ancient coins from the Romans empire. Really very interesting
Very interesting exibits starting from the bronze age and going up to the medieval and renissance periods which are extremely well represented. The weapons collection as well as the treasury (for which you need a separate ticket) are some of the best I've ever seen. The whole tour takes about two hours, definitely worth visiting.
Maybe not best but nice museum, there are four exhibitions, one about different times on Sibiu territory, second one about weapons, third and fourth ones about coins (Brukhental collection) and golden and silver precious things.
Great museum for those interested in history
Lots of interesting things to see... I really liked the treasure room and the lapidarium . A very unique exhibit was the life- sized armored knight on a horse ...and if you have the Brukenthal full ticket ( the one that costs 45 lei and gives you access to all the galleries and museums in and near Brukenthal ) you can see a room full, from ground to celling , with different guns, muskets and other fire arms ...
