Fauna in Focus is a brand new environmental education and public awareness project based in Siem Reap, Cambodia, not far from the iconic temples of Angkor Wat. Our mission is to improve knowledge of and attitudes towards wildlife, raise support for conservation and inspire a love of nature across Cambodia. To achieve our goal, Fauna in Focus designs nature discovery and environmental education programs for key audiences in the historic region of Angkor, and media-based resources for public awareness and outreach on a wider scale. In 2017 we release the first high-quality nature film designed for Cambodian audiences. Since it's release the film has over 1.5 million views, and has been featured in film festivals in Cambodia and around the world, and is licensed for use in over 26 schools and universities across Cambodia. In 2018 Fauna in Focus completed a short film collaboration with BirdLife International on the vulnerable Sarus Crane. Today the film has over 200,000 views and is in use by BirdLife's education program. In 2018 we completed development of our Cambodian Wildlife Club program, Cambodia's first discovery and inquiry-based environmental education curriculum. Through hands on activities, games, and teamwork, students develop critical thinking skills alongside a passion for wildlife, nature, conservation and science. In 2019 we opened Cambodia's first ever Nature Discovery Center, an interactive learning facility and conservation leadership training center. Here students and visitors of all ages and backgrounds can explore interactive installations, media, and hands on activity stations to explore wildlife, science and conservation in Cambodia. The Nature Discovery Center features a classroom, wildlife cinema, art gallery, organic model farm, orchid garden and more, and is free for Cambodian visitors.
