Nostalgia.....a place closest to my heart
Beautiful Church located in the centre of the city
On 6th of January 2017, I went to visit the Holy Cross Church after many years. The guard at the gate was reluctant to allow me to enter. I requested him saying that I'm an alumni of Holy Cross School and wanted to take a photograph of the church. But he said, I can visit on next Sunday. I said, I will not be in Silchar till Sunday. His point is, as the Father is not here in the campus so he can't allow me in. I can understand, he was only doing his duty. So, I had to satisfy myself by clicking the exterior of the Bishop's House. After a few moments, a Sister walked inside the gate and I introduced myself. She was kind enough to walk me in and even called a young girl who must be a resident student, to open the church for me to see. I came to know that the name of the Sister is Sister Rosario. I enjoyed talking to her for a while about old teachers, and the school and got a photo of mine clicked with her by requesting the student who gladly obliged. Came back with photographs and memories to cherish.
Nice place...
Visiting the church almost every week for the last four years. Sunday mass is at 08:00 AM. In weekdays mass at 06:30AM. Very peaceful and pious atmosphere.
