Tasty char koay teow with wok hei. Perhaps lacking a bit of umami if compared with Penang char koay teow. We waited about 30mins for our koay teow but there's grilled fish stall that's also really tasty and it's a good complement while waiting. The place is right next to a temple and might be easy to miss at first.

Must visit. Its as entertaining to watch the uncle cook on his "fireworks" wok stove, as the food is good. Eat whatever you want, but try the bbq stingray, its amazing! Have a cold Guinness with it while you are at it.

The fried koay teow is good. Have to wait about 40 mins. Fried using charcoal and served in top of yam leave. Worth waiting. As usual in Taiping, small cockles and shrimp are used in the fried koay teow. The grill fish stall in the same compound does not serve very good grilled stingray. Just plain curry powder was applied on it.

Finally got a chance to taste this famous fried koay teow in Taiping. I an proud of being penangnite and never thought of any good fried koayteow out of penang csn outshine. Tonight i found out i was wrong. Surprisingly, such a simple plate of fried koayteow with only tiny prawn and tiny cockles can tasted sooooo good. Its wok hei really boost up the taste of plain koayteow to the fullest. Then only i understand a good fried koayteow is not due to big prawn, giant cockles or lap cheong (chinese sausage) or even kuchai. It was the skill that made the difference. I have found my no.1 fried koay teow. I see not so good reviews about this stall but maybe today os my lucky day to taste the best from the chef. Although environment was discouraging (with uncles smoking under non smoking sign) and waiting time about 45 mins, but finally my patience and telerance got rewarded. A plate with chicken egg is RM4.40, while RM4.60 with duck egg. What's a cheap and best

So slow! Not many people around, but the wait can kill. After waiting for so so long, it was so mediocre, its like my school's canteen kuay teow, even worse. Asked the aunty, to reconfirm, if mine had extra chilli, she said yes, but clearly there wasnt any!!! I will never ever return nor recommend.

Probably the best CKT in Taiping, but a distance compare to Penang or even Alor Setar
