This renaissance festival is one of the worst I have ever been too. Not only as a vendor but also as a spectator. First things first it is overpriced for what is there. As a spectator I was able to walk the entire thing in 15min, there wasn't a lot there to look at or do. As a vendor, who does many renaissance festivals in the area over the last 7 years, I have never been treated with such disrespect in all my years. Not only where the other vendors rude but the managment and security were also EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful. If you are looking to have a good time at a renaissance festival I urge you to look for another one to attend.

Was sad to see it seem so small this year. Brought a friend who came like 6 years ago loved it and on ride home all he could talk abput. Talked to one of my fav vendors who said the dates has been changed to the same as another faire. Worried faire will be even smaller next year.

This is not your average large renfest. Festivals like the Minnesota Renaissance Festival or Bristol or Kansas City are like theme parks, designed mostly to separate you from your money. They're big and anonymous and corporate. The Siouxland Renaissance Festival is different. It's a one-weekend party for friends, and you're invited to be a friend. The people are friendly, the professionals are there because they have fun, and the prices won't empty your wallet. We have been to every one of these since the first in 2002. We're going back to every one in the future, too.

Come visit this amazing event next year. The food is delicious with something for every price range. The drinks are an even better experience. They offer not only your regular soda, water and beer.... they have mead. They dont just have mead, they have flavors like the traditional Cottage, Egyptian, the new Odin, the frutty like Boysenberry or raspberry and many more. Be transported back in time, surrounded by costumes, characters, and performers. The shopping is fun as well, there are vendors selling costumes, books, swords, viking drinking horns and much more. Witg old favorites returning and new vendors coming each year for the first time it is well worth the visit. (and the bump to our local economy)

The Siouxland Reanaissance Fetsival is a great family attraction that me, my wife, (and now my son) look forward to year after year. There are free acts to enjoy once you've paid your admission, including musicians, magicians, and comedy acts. There are tons of children's activities and games as well. One of our favorites is the children's bead hunt, which sends kids scouring the faire for performers and merchants with dragon pennants who will award your child with a bead. At the end of the day, your child can sign a log with how many beads he or she found and will receive a prize. My toddler is a bit young to appreciate it, but my wife and I enjoy playing on his behalf!

My hometown RenFair. Come join us for some mead, a turkey leg and all the wonderful entertainment the first weekend in June. Huzzah!
