I can’t recommend this place enough! Each room has a different staff member in character or with a specialist area and they are so knowledgeable on their topics, it’s brilliant. Every month there is a new theme and each member of the team researches and explains it to you as you travel through the house. This month they were celebrating black history month, it was fantastic to see how heavily researched each had gone into the topic from their own area of interest - food & drink, entertainers of the time, soldiers, home making and fire wardens etc. Their passion for the topics made it so interesting and the building itself is wonderful to see. The museum staff managed social distancing and hygiene procedures really well, ensuring each group was kept separate and communicating with us as we went. They all had face shields or clear barriers to protect visitors without impacting the experience.

A wonderful place to learn about the 1940s and history. Authentic displays and original artifacts. The staff here are very knowledgeable and offer real life stories and experiences.
My 3rd visit. If uou have any intrest in this era. Visiting this house is a must. Just to be taken back. And experience how life was then. And magically they lived so happily in what today would be described as hardship. People have worked so hard for us to be able to experience this. It was the most enjoyable day. And stayed for cream tea after. And if i had gone to the ritz it wouldnt have been as spot on as this was. Thank you everybody cant wait to come for christmas xx
Highly recommend, we really enjoyed our morning followed by lunch in the tearoom. The reenactor's add so much value to this living history museum.
This place is brilliant for a talk by 4 or 5 people on the second world war. Myself & the kids loved it.
