Skinny Vic's is great! Really cool atmosphere, really nice staff, and the food is fantastic. There's a lot on the menu which sometimes makes me nervous, but the quality of the dishes is top notch. While having many items that are classic diner food, there's enough spin on them that makes them feel a little fresher and not stuck in time. I just wish this place was closer to Milwaukee, but at least it's located not that far from the highway.

Go here, you won't be disappointed. It's in a strip mall and doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it's this cute 50s style diner with an actual smoothie bar. My server was bright eyed and bushy tailed at 7am. Generous portions, good coffee. They do fancy lattes too, you can even get them spiked. I hope my travels bring me back through so I can come here again!!
While we were visiting Kettle Morraine Forest we got hungry. We ended up in Slinger, WI by a Subway via Google Maps. We were not feeling Subway, but noticed this cafe in the corner. Skinny Vics was a pleasant surprise on our trip. It had a 1950-1960's theme about it with records all over the fall and background music to match. I was most surpriced by the meal. I ordered a fish fry with cole slaw and potato pancake (actually a waffle). The fish (haddock) was really good and the batter was a step above the typical fish fry. The cole slaw was also very good being slightly sugered without being drenched in salad dressing. Like the fish, it tasted very made from scratch. The potato waffles were very good too. They came with applesauce and syrup. While I have had potato pancakes before, I can't say I have had waffles and it was a pleasant surprise. So if you are ever in Slinger, WI give Skinny Vic's a try, you won't be disappointed.
Our server was awesome! She was super friendly and enthusiastic and explained the menu in detail. The food was above average compared to other places in the area. I had the blueberry turkey sandwich. Try it! You'll not regret it. Also, they have excellent Bloody Marys and don't judge when you order one at 11 am on a weekday.
This place is a small quiet place. Great place for people who are looking to relax and have some time to just catch up. Not a great place for kids as it does take a little longer than expected to get your meal due to the home style cooking they have. It appeared the waitstaff prepares their own drinks including smoothies, causing a longer than usual wait for drinks. Meal was delicious. Wait staff and host was ok.
The owner of Skinny Vic's grew up down the road from me. I am so happy for her success. Skinny Vic's is not your average small town diner. It has a stylish/fun atmosphere and the food is fresh and delicious. No greasy burgars here. If you haven't checked Skinny Vic's out yet, I recommend you do.
The food wasn't good my first visit, but the last two times it was amazing. Their skillet breakfasts are wonderful. The only thing is that the music was a little loud, it distracted conversation. Also, they are only open till 2 in the afternoon most days... Not a fan of that. They aren't open early enough to be a strictly breakfast joint, and 2 in the afternoon is still a lunch hour. I don't approve of the hours. I wish they were open for dinner. However I have met the owner and she was very nice. Servers could be friendlier. I had the same server the last two times I went and she wasn't as friendly as she could have been. But like I said, great breakfast.
Enjoyed our breakfast /lunch. Very good food. Attentive service. Competitive prices. Wide selection. I'll be back for a Friday Fish Fry.
