My 16 year old daughter had extreme complications after what was meant to be a simple herniated disc repair with Dr. Shibayama. She had a spinal bleed after her first surgery and required a 2nd emergency surgery later that evening, still with Dr. Shibayama. She ended up in a wheelchair as she was unable to walk. We wanted her care transferred to a neurosurgeon but Dr. Shibayama would NOT release her care. I was eventually able to get a neurosurgeon to take my daughters case and the Mayo Clinic in FL also would take her as they recognized she needed a 3rd surgery to repair issues left after 1st 2 surgeries. After her 3rd surgery by a neurosurgeon, she was able to walk again (as the clear problem of what was causing the damage and inability to walk was repaired) but she has nerve pain and damage from time wasted trying to get her proper care. I found Dr. Shibayama to be a very nice man before the surgery went wrong. After my daughter was left in a wheelchair he seemed more interested in covering himself than giving her proper care. For that reason alone, I would never recommend him for your surgical needs.

I cannot say enough about how appreciative I am of Dr Shibayama and the StoneCrest staff. Amazing Professionalism, Compassionate Care, Skillful hands, and cared for me like family. Dr Shibayama patiently listened to me, he reviewed everything with me and shared his plan. I had been in horrible pain for several weeks following a car accident, I felt I wasn’t being treated like a person but a protocol. I made the decision to get a seconded opinion with Dr Shibayama and immediately his experience was evident in his recommended plan of care. Most importantly Dr Shibayama understands the power of prayer, he prayed with me and my husband. I cannot say how much this meant to me. Dr Shibayama You are a leader among physicians, thank you for everything!

Dr. Shibayama is caring, compassionate, actively listens, and has amazing surgical skills. He took me on after another doctor had performed a surgery which left me in worse shape than prior to. After a couple of visits with him we decided that I would need a revision to my first surgery and that he thought I would get greater benefit from adding another level of fusion. I cannot say enough about how this man has given me the opportunity to get my life back. Straight out of surgery I could tell the biggest difference in the way that my back and legs were feeling. Immediately all of the swelling that I have been having in my legs for the past seven years was gone along with the squeezing excruciating pain in them. I cannot thank him and his team enough for their compassion and I look forward to a full recovery.

Dr Shibiyama is very compassionate and nice. He truly cares about his patients issues and works hard to seek solutions to alleviate pain and suffering. He’s also honest so if a patient doesn’t need surgery he will Not recommend it. I love that he is Christian and prays for his patients overall well-being and healing!!! If your a patient who has had spinal surgery that didn’t work or if your a patient needing it for the first time you’ll be in excellent hands.

The staff at the Stonecrest facility are engaging, intelligent and very helpful. Dr. Shibayama makes you feel like a human rather than a patient which is extremely comforting in a major surgery situation. I would recommend this facility and all of its staff to anyone and everyone.
