This local market gets 5 stars for simply being one of the largest and most diverse I've encountered in South America. Nothing like it in Quito Ecuador, Cuenca, Colombia, Lima Peru, or Trujillo. Simply amazing to experience it firsthand.

Cool place, lots of things to see and try. Clean enough to eat and drink the juice. Lots of fruits, potatoes and legumes, fresh juice (delicious!). Lots of herbs and natural medicines, that's why the market has a second name "witch's market" .
I always love a good public market. this one has an excellent selection. I particularly enjoy the freshly squeezed juice.
Nice but not as good as the market in cusco, I got juice at both and the juice bar here they put in as little fruit as possible lots of water and ice then ask if you want sugar, I did get an awesome chicken sandwich for lunch though.
Perfect if you want to buy some souvenirs. In the second floor you'll find a lot places with cheap traditional food.
Fun place to visit with loads of fresh local food, fruit and veg. Excellent place for a cheap cheerful (and very tasty) lunch. We had stuffed peppers and ceviche. Huge portions and really good value for money. It is a little rough around the edges but it’s to be expected in a local market and the quality is really good
We bought many kinds of exotic fruits here, the vendor was nice to introduce some delicious fruit. We had chicken noodle soup in the market, some of our friends started to having diarrhea after this meal.
One of the must go areas in town, just to experience the local pace and lifestyle. Loads of fresh fruits and fruit juice available.
