So useless. They try to dismiss you off instead of actually trying to help you. They just want their checks.

literally the worst office. Incredibly unhelpful and extremely unprofessional. They incorrectly spelled my name TWICE. First with a typo and told me is it a big deal since it's my middle name? Then the 2nd time they removed a space between my name. They made me go out of my way to resend my birth certificate AND THEY STILL HAVENT CORRECTED IT. So frustrating.

My husband I and I went to the New Haven Social Security office yesterday to enroll in retirement benefits for both of us. The SSA specialist who helped us was so professional and knowledgeable that we asked for her name and said we’d like to write a review. Jessica Gagne helped both of us enroll in benefits. She was also very helpful about checking my benefits to be sure I’d be credited correctly. We said we needed to change our address - she took are of it. We wanted to sign up online and she set it up. She offered guidance about how to correctly sign up for Medicare benefits when I retire in the future and she gave us the forms and stepped through what we would need to do. She was friendly, professional and very pro-active.

I didn’t realize that I could give a review! Last year I tried to get a new social security card with a name change. There was an issue and when I called not one person answered. I left messages every day for 2 weeks straight. I even left messages with the supervisor and still no call back. Finally was able to get a hold of someone who was rude and hung up on me.

Need more people handling the phones, and theguards once you get inside the building shouldn’t be mean and jerky all the time, not criminals going into the building just people who want to check something or find something out.
