She literally told me I had fibromyalgia after a single visit. That's a diagnosis of EXCLUSION. Because I have memory issues and back pain. Mind you the back pain, is from breaking my back as a child.*shocker* Quack.

Doc has a fantastic staff and I have seen five different neurologist all across the country for severe peripheral neuropathy and she is the most thorough and helpful to date. However, she won't let me self-medicate! That's a joke for all you negative Nancy's...but I do wish she would.
If negative numbers were an option I would give that. She ignores information you try to give her if she doesn’t feel it applies (because she knows everything), she is rude and condescending, she does nothing but interrupt you when you try to speak, and she is extremely hard to tolerate. I absolutely CANNOT stand her. However, the rest of her staff is awesome!
Very rude condensating and makes you feel that you're less than. I hope she loses her license soon. Did a quick evaluation. Was needing because of new injuries nerve conductivity study. That did not happen.
If I could rate Dr. Jessen with a zero, I would. After a syncope event my doctor ordered an MRI. That test revealed very disturbing results of over 40 lesions on my brain. My diagnosis is “Extensive Abnormal White Matter Disease” so of course my doctor said I needed to see a Neurologist ASAP to find solutions for this condition. I don’t care if a doctor has a good bedside nature or not, I just want a professional and conclusive diagnosis and plan to treat. She had neither. She was given the MRI results ahead of my appointment but didn’t bother to read them, she had no idea about the lesions and brain disease because she didn’t care enough to review the key information sent to her. When my daughter brought it to her attention she was dumbfounded and humiliated. She even tried to blame my doctor of not sending her the reports, tried to throw her right under the bus. I know she had those reports as the receptionist and nurse both commented that Dr. Messen was “reviewing all my test results and documentation that they had received”. Anyone in need of a Neurologist has some kind of serious condition. I would never recommend Dr. Jessen to anyone for any reason. I am not a review giving type of person, I just don’t want anyone else to go through what I did.
I agree with the others on here, if I could give a rating of zero or below, I would. She is a horrible doctor and a horrible person. The office does not return phone calls and then she herself has the nerve to say you are a liar. Why would someone who is trying to call about problems with medication that she prescribed be lying about not getting a return call from her office? I had to go to my family doctor just to get migraine medicine that wouldn't send me to the emergency room. That's just the tip of the iceberg, stay clear of her, save your life, go to Anchorage, go to doctors that care about you!
I love this place. I heard that the doctor here rubs some people the wrong way and the reviews seam to back that up. But my first hand experience makes me wonder what the fuss is all about. The people here are very sweet and cheerful. The doctor herself was very friendly and gentle. She was highly focused on finding the problem. Maybe that's what people dislike about her. Well, i am sorry but i don't mind a doctor who has little time for chit chat and is focused on solving the problem. That's what I'm there for. She was honest and to the point but never rude or inconsiderate in any way, shape or form. On the contrary, i found her to be quite considerate and legitimately interested in my welfare. My first impression has been very good and i look forward to dealing with these people again.
I had a great experience. Dr Jessen is very smart and helpful..Ed
