The area itself is beautiful and a natural spot for kayaking. The guides who set you up seemed like college kids who were not overly concerned for your safety or maybe were not trained to go over what to look out for when on the water. Like the fact that local boaters will be driving full speed through the kayaking launch area to get the near by marina. Many local boaters were obnoxiously driving fast and close to kayakers. A heads up would’ve been nice! They also do not keep track of which kayak you take out, or if you returned on time. As we returned the kayak we gave our name to the same girl that set us up. We said good night thank you and left around 6:30pm. I received a phone call at 9pm from the same girl who said she was looking for us and wasn’t sure if we came back? Very strange but hope they read this and can close any safety gaps in how they train as well as take down peoples info.

Great place. Quiet, very good for first timers on a kayak or cannoe!

You can rent a canoe or kayak to go out on The Mystic River. A hidden out of the way gem.

What a cool and awesome way to both give and receive. They have great equipment (kayaks, canoes, paddles, life jackets), a kind and helpful team, and everyone can appreciate the impact made by cleaning up the river. I hope to get to visit them again the next time I'm in the area!

The best wildlife viewing site this eagle scout has ever seen

The river looks like ecological disaster. This is probably because of the dam that restricting the flow. The shoreline looks like a dump.
