After decades of alcohol abuse my sister is finally sober and on the road to having her life back. This was predominantly thanks to Somewhere House and their fantastic team. They supplied the safety, care, understanding and support that allowed her to make sense of her problems and come out on top. They succeeded where decades of medication and clinical quarantine failed. Highly recommended.

I am just on my train journey home after completing 4 weeks intensive therapy and 4 weeks standard therapy at Somewhere House. I can honestly say that it has saved my life. I went to rehab to feel better but ended up getting better at feeling. Run by one of the most inspiring and hard working human beings I have come across. Angie and Dave put their heart and soul into Somewhere House. The team is made up of roughly 6 councillors and a hand full of highly skilled support workers. As an addict I needed tough love, I needed guidance, structure and boundaries. I did my research and the universe guided me to this live saving home. I owe my life to the staff at Somewhere House. They saw what a broken and frightened little boy I was and bit by bit helped be the strong man I feel I am today. I will always be grateful to them for what I have (not what I don’t have). Thank You Somewhere House - JS x

I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to work part-time with the Somewhere House team as a volunteer throughout most of 2017. I left in September that year to join the prison service. Somewhere House is an extraordinary place - so full of love, compassion and humanity but as well as this a lot of hard work, dedication and expert guidance drive things along. Three years on and my career in the prison service has been no picnic. I often think about my times at 68 Berrow Road back in 2017 and all I learned and am proud to say that I was once part of the Somewhere House team. Thank you.

This treatment centre is the best learning and growth that I have ever experienced from a service. I felt that I was always 100% involved in the program that was delivered. The feeling of complete safety and care especially through the COVID-19 circumstance has helped me to feel a sense of comfort and well being because of the good examples of leadership that has been displayed. I now feel that I can manage my feelings and emotions alongside having a more controlled ability to make the right adult choices. I now have the ability and confidence to trust myself and other people and a desire to inspire others with a life changing model that continues to work for me. I did not think that it was possible for someone like me because I felt so damaged. Thankfully I now have discovered a better understanding of myself and a way to practice continued healing. The work I have engaged with at Somewhere House has changed my life and given me valuable tools. This is what I needed to help me to finally feel a sense of freedom. Thank you.

I had my placement here as a student counsellor. It’s a full days placement which was hard going as I was also working my day job alongside university. However the experience of working within a rehab with a supportive team, facilitating group therapy, etc was invaluable. It’s unique in that you spend time with the clients in the “house” and get to watch them grow. Lives are truly saved by Angie and the team. It’s not an easy placement by any means but I’m so grateful for the opportunity and experience. Thank you
