Extremely terrible customer service. My credit card offered me 10% back on any utility payment until 3/31/2021. I had made a 503.00 payment on their phone system to Nicor on 3/25 to get that 10% back. After I made the payment someone at Nicor decided to void my payment thinking it was a mistake & they did not contact me to ask if my payment was a mistake let alone to let me know the void was made. No communication at all on Nicor side. I find out on 4/5 after the 10% promotion ended about all of this. I made the 503.00 payment again.. My credit card company said I lost the promotion since it ended. I called Nicor asking what happened & if I could get some sort of credit on my gas bill since Nicor totally dropped the ball on this. The man I spoke with at Nicor said "You may think you lost that 50 promotion because of us but it really is all in your perception. Our other rep voided the payment thinking it was a mistake & had no reason to check with you about it. There is nothing else that will happen at this point. Goodbye." So no apologies, no credit, nothing even though I did nothing wrong (except trust Nicor). Nothing. Na da. Zip. They had no right to void a payment that I made. I did NOT ask for a void nor did I ask to cancel any payment. The customer service is terrible when they made the mistake, owned up to what they did, & followed with zero apologies. I wish I could give negative stars.
