Known as lost city or abandoned city which is located at Sonargaon, Narayangonj. The place happened to be a home to prosperous community of Hindu merchants. Out of many buildings only 52 of the city's original buildings are still standing. A great place to experience the historical structures of Bengal. Perfect place for day out with family and friends.

The name "Sonargaon" stands for Golden Hamlet. It is located in Narayanganj District, Dhaka Division. They said that, Sonargaon is one of the oldest capitals of the Bengal area and also it was the administrative capital or East-Bengal. Nowadays, this city is totally not for living anymore. Government decided to keep it as for preservation. Lots of the structures here got damaged or have bad conditions, even some big building got half-destroyed. They appointed some guards patrolling nearby and warn people not to enter those building. We were standing in front of a big structure with more than 50% of damaged. Since the area it is abandoned, nature finds its own way for being great! At the centre of the site, we found a house with a board carving with text to show that the building was built from 13th century. We got amazed, since it was like 700 years before, and they have already be able to design those kind of building and which can stay after 700 years. At the last part of the area, we managed to get permission from authority to get inside a building (with strict safety measurement), as I mentioned before, those architecture are from 13th century. What can I say?! Just speechless Last spot in the area is the most enjoyable one. A short trial with full of greeny trees on the side. The air of the countryside is already fresh, now it is fresher with the support of trees!
