Such a great place to relax with family and friends. Hosts were super friendly and inviting. Didn't have a care in the world while here. Daughter caught her first rainbow trout and taught her friends how to fish also! Super quiet, and watching the stars in the hot tub was amazing!!! Thanks again Heather and Bill for a great time!!! We'll be back!

If I could give zero stars I would. The accommodations were not as advertised. The bedding was dirty and used. The owners were terrible hosts. While we went out for the day someone went through our belongings. The owners misrepresented themselves. Heather told me at booking they have fish in the pond and if you would like to cook up a fish on the BBQ that was an option. We went to Sooke area for a Salmon fishing trip, not muddy rainbows. Upon leaving, the owners tell me about a previous guest who fished all their “pets” -fish- from the pond and released into their cooler. I told her I would never eat trout fed from pellets and living in muddy water ( taste gross) and we are here to catch Salmon and crab. The next day the owners charged my credit card 260 for taking their pets. We have stayed in the Sooke area to go fishing for Salmon for over 10 years now and never have we had such terrible accommodations and hosts.
Dear Heather and Bill, We stayed the night at your lovely cottage by the lake and were endlessly mystified by the beauty, warmth, hospitality and care in every lovely corner of your beautiful retreat. We really were amazed by the large trout in the lake that came to welcome us and even followed us on the lakeshore. We only stayed one night and it felt so much like home it was very hard to leave! Everything we needed was there for us to enjoy. The hot tub was so nice to relax in and we stayed until the moon was up! Of course the occasional dip in the lake made our tubing much more fun! Our overnight was in December with a little rain encouraging us to have a fire. What a romantic touch! we will definitely recommend the retreat to anyone that will listen and hope to stay again in the summer! Thank you again for a wonderful and relaxing stay at Mountain Springs. A few friends and I rented this cabin for May long weekend. What we got for the price we paid was unreal! We've stayed many places all over the island but nothing will ever top Mountain Spring Retreat. Private lake, hot tub, cupboards stacked with board games, wine glasses, movies etc. We stayed for three days and that did not seem like enough time to enjoy everything the cabin had to offer. The owners were wonderful and respected our privacy while still making sure everything we needed was there. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to enjoy a tranquil home away from home. We look forward to returning there in the near future.
I didnt expect mountain springs to be so wounderful. The beautiful lake is full of large rainbow trout and boy do they put up a fight! That perfect clear starry night semed so unreal. Never have I experianced such a magical place. Time felt as though it was left behind with my cell phone, email, and reality. I would highly recommend a stay at mountain springs retreat. Thank you soo much Bill and Heather for sharing your truly amazing paradise! I cannot wait to return.
