How can mere words express the gratitude and admiration for Dr Neil Cleaver that I now have. February 2015 is 4 long years after suffering a disc protrusion along with the associated pain. Dr Cleaver performed modern spinal fusion on two discs in my spine and I am now pain free. After my recovery period of 6 weeks I should be able to have my normal life activities again. I am in awe of what Dr Cleaver has done surgically. His abilities are far above my understanding and his generosity to my individual case is something that I hope I can repay to him one day. Just over 2 weeks ago I could hardly walk, was taking lots pain relief and not enjoying life at all. After 6 days in hospital I am taking it gently walking about without pain. I am 61 and have many years ahead of me to participate with family, friends and pursue personal interests. I thoroughly recommend Dr Cleaver for your surgery and hold him in my highest esteem. Such a nice guy too!

Dr Cleaver changed my life. I am now 11 months post op for a L4/L5 disc replacement. Before the op I was needing valium to sleep and pain meds to get through the daytime. I am now totally drug free. I go to the gym with my 2 teenage boys 3 times a week, which would never have happened without Dr Cleaver's help. I swim, run, kick footies with my boys. I even went snow skiing in NZ last year. I have a life worth living thanks to Dr Cleaver. He told of all risks and possible outcomes of the op. He was straight up and down, no sugar coating the risks, or what I would need to do and go through after the op to heal properly. I followed all of his post op advice aswell as all of my physio's programs. I couldn't be any higher in my praise for the skill, knowledge and thoroughness that Dr Cleaver put towards my treatment. 5 stars from me.

2 months now since surgery and what an unbelievable result. My back pain was so bad I could only walk 50m and the mornings were unbearable. I had severe groin pain and at times it felt like someone was trying to pull out my ham stings from the back of my legs. Dr Cleaver done fusion and disc replacement and now i'm back playing golf and my life is normal. I have zero pain. Back pain not only affected me physically but also mentally. Trying to cope with it was hard plus it was difficult for my family and upset them a lot of the time. To not have the pain anymore is a true blessing. I now spring out of the bed in the morning and have the best days. If you have bad back pain get a referral to see Neil. I spent 2 years seeing physios and the like. They were all hopeless. Thank you so much Neil for turning my life around. p.s I do not understand the negative comment below. He does not elaborate. mmmm sounds a bit suspicious.

I had not been able to walk for approx 2.5 yrs due to severe spinal degeneration (spondolylothesis, radiculopathy) etc.. I could not get surgery anywhere in the Qld public health system. After paying for HCF top cover for 12 mths (my daughter paid it for me as I am now on a Disability Pension), I had anterior spinal surgery in a private Bne hospital, with another spinal dr just before Xmas 2015. I was sent home without any one checking on my extreme 'abnormal' pain. I found out from Neil Cleaver that one of my vertebrae had broken and the spine had 'jammed' together, 'collapsing' the titanium spinal cage the first spinal dr had inserted. I didn't know. I was in absolute agony with SHOCKING, UNBEARABLE nerve pain for 4 weeks. Screaming, with morphine doing NOTHING for the acute pain. My daughter (who was visiting from o'seas to look after me), took me in a wheelchair to see my GP. I asked him for a referral to see Dr Neil Cleaver. I rang Neil's surgery, first thing, the next day. When I explained the situation, Neil's excellent staff fitted me in to see him THAT DAY. Neil sent me for a spinal x-ray & told me to come straight back up to his rooms with the results. He admitted me THAT AFTERNOON FOR URGENT SURGERY& operated the next day. Neil did posterior spinal surgery, putting in screws, rods, plates etc. That was 5th Jan 2026. Today, 25th March 2016,just 8 wks later, I walked two lengths of our large outdoor pool & swam 4 laps! I drove my car this week! I CANNOT thank Dr Neil Cleaver enough. I had EVERY confidence in him. I trusted him COMPLETELY. He was professional, kind, understanding, patient & kept me fully informed at all times. Without Neil 'coming to my rescue', I don't think I would have walked again. I am forever in his debt! :)

Trusted Neil to correct my spine and I walked out on 10 times more drugs and on the walking stick. Go see Matthew Scott-young instead
