My parents in their 90s (my father 94 with heart failure) received a Covid vaccination letter only for my mother. She was told to book an appointment in ludicrous places like Epsom or Macclesfield! Luckily she is still very alert and was able to find her way to being vaccinated at Leek Wooton Golf Course but nobody would help her to get an appointment for my father at the same time. As a retired GP he was particularly annoyed. They tried ringing your number for about an hour being told they were no. 1 in the queue but there was no answer. I did the same for 30 minutes. If you aren't going to answer the phone then why leave that message going? They were exhausted yesterday as the whole process of getting appointments together took 5.5 hours!!! Whilst I appreciate this is a difficult time, surely you have had enough time for someone to organise a system whereby these elderly people can speak to someone? Initial contact was via text - again, a very unfriendly means for people of this age. Thanks to the Practice Manager at the surgery we now have my father booked in but, I suggest that, as numbers ramp up, your systems operate much more effectively!
