I ride for work at OHSU and everyday the views are spectacular. Fast times and short waits, it beats commuting by far. Never had any issue even during inclement weather and the staff are always helpful.

AMAZING VIEWS of the city! It is worth taking this ride, it is a short trip (just 45 minutes) but it leaves you with unforgettable views of Portland. Once at the top, you can sit, relax and admire the lanscape. Keep in mind that the tram terminal is closed on Sundays!
After having my share of gandola rides in Whistler, BC, this was underwhelming. However, for 5.10 it’s a fairly cheap way to get a view of the city. Be aware that the round trip is less than 10 mins so it’s a small ride but technology and the structure is sturdy and taken care of
I was surprised how busy this place was, but I did not have to wait very long to ride the tram. Once on the tram, it moves fast and smooth except when it goes over the post. The tram swings a lot more than I thought it would. It only swings for a few seconds after going over the post. On a good weather day you can see Mt Hood. The view in the fall time is amazing. When you are at the top, there is an observation area that you can sit and relax and take in the wonderful view. It was fun to sit and watch the tram go up and down.
A very neat, if not mildly terrifying, experience. Tourists should be mindful that locals use these to get to work/appointments/school. The tram wasn't too crowded, but it would have been nice to get a better view at the front. We got to see a guy out on the edge to grease the pistons, and he said it was his first day doing that- that guy is the bravest guy in Portland! For the incredible vantage point of the city, it's totally worth the price.
