I love Sonic, but I don't care for the payment structure that they have for their staff. The carhops are paid a much lower wage than even minimum wage. Sonic can do this because they claim their carhops receive tips. I, like I imagine others, don't carry cash and I wasn't able to tip. This location doesn't have a drive thru. So, instead of not tipping, I just went without my food and drink and Sonic went without my money.

Had a weird experience at sonic today! Brought the kids and got 6 meals with ice cream shakes. For myself I bought a small slushie but was delivered a kids sized ice cream slush of the same flavor. The food was delivered and the server came back out to ask if I had been given a different drink than I ordered. I explained that I had ordered a larger size but that I was fine with the smaller one so not to worry. She went back inside then returned a minute later to tell me that her manager demanded her to take the drink back from me... so I handed her the kids sized drink that I had been drinking for 10 minutes. I was trying to be unproblematic by drinking the incorrect drink worth less than what I paid for, but the manager demanded that the server take it back from me so they could throw it away? If no stars was an option this location would have earned it.
I would have given 4 stars but i ask for a route 44 and got a medium drink, also ask for chili cheese tot and just got tots. Im a little disappointed this time
By far the best Sonic around. Carhops are polite, efficient, and get your order right. They even run the condiment cart regularly.
The crew today, 11/19/2020, is totally on their best game. I ordered the footlong chili cheese Coney with fries and a cherry coke. They didn't skimp on the chili or the cheese and the coke had just the right amount of cherry. It was the best lunch I've had from a Sonic in a while. Well done management, you've hired some top-notch employees!
