I would highly recommend this facility. No hospital is perfect but overall they've been great and have dealt with any issues that arise in a timely and compassionate way. Its a psych hospital so ofcourse you're going to be surrounded by people who have varying degrees of mental health problems which can present an uncomfortable and sometimes scary situation for kids with lesser forms of mental health issues. But the staff seems to genuinely care for the well being of the kids. You are able to call and check on your child every day and also are able to talk to them for a few minutes if you request to. Be warned though, if your child is put in on the weekend then don't expect the same level of communication and assistance as you get during the work week. They run on a skeleton crew. Reading all of the reviews was absolutely terrifying as a parent and I don't want to undermine those patients experiences but please take their reviews with a grain of salt. So far (hes been there for a week so far) its been ok and he is getting the help he needs while making sure that he is safe and protected. While this whole situation has been horrible to deal with, I'm thankful that we seem to have found a good facility for him to get help at.

a staff gave everyone corona which made me give it to other people. most of them didn’t even wear their masks. also more than half of the staff are mean. i really like mrs.nicole though.

My son stayed two times here. I really had a good experience with my son here both times. The staff and social workers are very nice people and they let you know what is going on at all times with your child. The staff makes sure your children bathe, brush their teeth, eat their meals, and go to school (at Southwood). I would recommend anyone who is in need of help with their child to come here. The doctor's do listen to your concerns and explain to you their course of action with you child. I know if I ever need to have my son come back this is the place I would take him to, a place I know he is going to be safe and a place that they treat my son like their own. Thank you all!

I was admitted here twice when I was in eighth grade... all they do is push pills down everyone's throat.... they dont really care how anybody feels... I also broke a piece of my knee off and they let me walk on it for a day or two without getting me help... please for the love of God, DON'T SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE! THIS PLACE MAKES PATIENTS WORSE ONLY TO GET THEM SENT BACK TO THEM...

I was here recently it wasn’t too bad. Some of the staff were amazing and others were lazy. The social worker and doctor I had were amazing. The food was decent depends who was cooking that day. But some of their staff members need to remember they are there to try to help us. But at points I was getting more depressed because we do nothing. We will all sit together watch tv or play cards. Sometimes the staff made us sit there in silence while they were just playing on their phone. But honestly if I ever had to go back I would go right back.
