I signed up as a volunteer with UGM and due to me not having a Christian faith they turned down my application to help move on good into the world. Yet they want to be Christlike. Karen offered me to work with the thrift store which I turned down. They do have a wonderful mission statement and a great business plan.

Our daughter is on the streets right now with the father of our 2 granddaughters. We have the girls. We recently saw our daughter after a few months and she doesn't look good. Do you take her without the girls. What if she decides she needs help now? Where do we take her and how do we help her?
I am so thankful we have a warm place to stay and were not on the streets, but ...If you have a male child over a certain child you are Not allowed to recover in their program. You are barely allowed shelter at all. You cannot progress in any of their programs no matter if you obey the rules or not. They discriminate against males that are over 11. It’s illegal. It’s also morally wrong. Our male children deserve to be protected too. Not treated like they’re bad and further traumatized. Being homeless is bad enough and traumatizing to a child. Imagine being told you can’t do anything simply because you are male and potentially harmless. What are we telling our male children? That they are all bad once they hit puberty. That NOT love OR protection.
UGM is outstanding! And if you are serious about recapturing your life with spiritual grounding this may be this place for you. Stop listening to the negativity ABOUT OUR HOUSE and come SEE and try it for yourself ... It cost nothing but a lil time and effort. Peace and blessings to you you All
helping the community in so many ways.
A place for homeless women with children get a fresh start with life.
