Beautiful hiking through cypress swamp, pine and oak areas. Lovely boardwalk and dirt paths also. Serene views of the upper river and branches. Saw lots of wildlife. One of the hiking loops is impassable due to a bridge being down(gone) that goes over the water. A shed/barn that was on the property is in bad shape which is a shame because it's a pretty cool building. Old house on property serves as the park office. The only bathroom is in there but only open if staff is present. Nice safe area to park. There is a newer but small playground. The only downfall is getting to the park. I thought Google maps had directions wrong cause it meandered us through a lackluster neighborhood on some really rough, pot hole dirt roads. I kept thinking there's no way there's a park down here. Sure enough there was. Give it a try for yourself...its worth it! We felt safe the whole time and it was family friendly.

Looking for a quiet get away, this appears to be it! The drive back to the park explains it all, as it will test your suspension on your car, and you might realign your back, it is a dirt road, so keep the residents in mind and don't go \Dukes of Hazard\ driving there kicking up dust, you'll end up paying for a realignment. The park has raised boardwalk trails that make going for a walk a wonderful experience, well worth the visit.

The road coming in is rough. Dirt, potholes, uneven and beware standing water it hides some deep holes. Once in park you can see where it is maintained. Small playground for little kids. Trails are not marked great but can't get lost. The Ryals Branch trail is down. Can see where a bridge is gone and for long time. To bad looked cool if they would bring back. The bridge trail is highlight where there is observation area of the old great tree. The other path is excellent taking you through the swamp. It dead ends on a work road so follow to road turn and go back. One bathroom at entrance. A hike on every trail with some recovering is 3 to 3.25 miles roughly. Worth visit but road is something.

This was. Great little spot. Small parking area, nice kids park and the boardwalk. We saw a big bald cypress tree that is huge and old.

It was a good trail but it seems like it isn't maintained all that well. There was leaves and roots all over the trails and the boardwalk had protruding chicken wire from the railings everywhere. There is a trail that crosses water and the only way across was balancing on a fallen tree. The way to the trails was confusing because there is only one obvious path and the other is tucked in the back. There is only one bathroom and it can't be accessed unless there is staff so you'd better be empty or comfortable with dropping your pants in the woods if you go on weekends. The scenery was really good and there is enough trail to tire yourself out but it would be easy to get lost because of the loose plant life. While going towards the marsh there is a section that passes few houses and one person had their emaciated dogs loose and on the trail without any supervision. The only reason I didn't assume they were strays was the collars they had on. We ended up turning around after the dogs kept barking at us from further up the trail before running back to their house.
