Love it. Was clean. Stay first night at site 24 that was beautiful quaint and quite. Pictures are of my view from hammock. 2 night stayed at site 23 not private and loud exposed really dont recommend. Just heads up site 23 no all the others perfect really.

Smallest and one of the oldest campgrounds in Beaver lake. They are working on updating, new showers/bathroom by entrance, rest are vault. Quiet, does not get as rowdy on holidays as some of the big campgrounds. Was originally designed for tents, so getting campers and rv's into some sites can be hairy. Only electric hookups. Water every 4 or 5 sites. 1 trail out to the 100ft bluffs, pretty. Need to work on some more trails. The marina and swim area needs work.

There was a trail that took us to numerous bluffs. Maybe 10 ft, 20 ft, and 40ft or above bluffs. The swim beach is closed due to e. Coli. :( Seemed like a nice place.

First off, the camp hosts were awesome. They were friendly and helpful in the extreme. Very happy with them. As for the park, it was a good park. Most everything is pretty brand new construction. However... that's part of the problem. The one and only bathrooms that are not vault toilets have clearly been just built. They are gorgeous. And the screws all over the ground right around thwm are all new too... didn't catch any in the motor home tires thank God (because they aren't cheap) but came close. Also, the spots are very weird. One spot had three camp areas in it and they seemed to be intended for campers as they were about 40 feet long each. But the drive into them made it impossible to get your camper in there. It was very weird. I have seen worse, but could have been better.

I and my mom are the Gate Attendants for War Eagle Public Use Campground. I personally think we have one of the best campgrounds for families and small groups around. Day fee for swimming fishing picnicing walking and putting boats in is 5 and camping is just 20 a night. Plus an annual pass for all day use fees for only 40 a year. Come on by and check us out and if you like it or want to ask more questions feel free.
