The Goddess 'Northern Bahini ' is the Godly form of Devi Chandi..is an ancient folk God of Sheakhala- a village in Chanditala ...this temple was established approximately 500years ago with the help of Maharaja of Burdwan..there are many stories regarding the appearance of the goddess .even in the ancient "Mongal kabya" it is mentioned..the Statue of Mrinmayee was rennovated several time but it was changed to stone statue in 1340( Bengali year) on 16 th ashar..centering this famous temple many festival happen throughout the year such as Deshmala festival ( in baisakh),annual festival (in ashar) etc ..people believe the goddess protect them and made their prosperity..this temple is also rennovated recently .in every festival lot of devotee come and they are served with Goddess prasad...I liked the place .with its calm and pristine environmentp
