Called up & made a reservation. Was told that the only available time for a table of 2 was 6.30pm. Arrived and spent 5 mins trying to find somebody to ask which was our table. (There's nobody on the door when you arrive to sign in.) Finally found a waitress who said they were fully booked. Explained that we had a reservation. She replied again that they were full. I understand that things happen, but perhaps don't bother taking reservations. And it would have been nice to receive an apology.

Happy with dinner and dessert from here. We thought it was cheap (though we are city folk) and happy with the meals. Lamb shank fell off the bone so have to be happy with that. Really does have the old RSL look going for it, but still was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was.
They don't know what a well done steak Is. We were served blue rare steak without refund or apologies

Well what an experience, lovely friendly staff, but unfortunately there was a bit of miscommunication with our meals, ordered Pork & received Turkey, ordered pasta with chicken & received pasta with prawns & won’t comment on the pumpkin soup but thanks for a good laugh.... If you want to experience a night at faulty towers, RSL St. Helens is the place to go
