Amighetti's is one of my favorite lunch options for days when I'm looking to treat myself. The food is a little pricey, but the quality makes it worth it. It seemed that for a while their portion sizes were getting smaller with increasing prices, but now the portions are more fair. I really enjoy the turkey special sandwich and tortellini alfredo. Carryout service is quick and easy.

The only Amighetti's location that I ever visited was the one on the Hill, and apparently that store is no longer there. I've been to the Hill location several times. I don't live in St. Louis, but when I came to the city, I'd usually stop in Amighetti's. And in the early '90s, I worked downtown, so I'd visit the store every once in a while. Last time was November 2014. And, as usual, I got the \Amighetti's Special\. I call it the \Godfather of Sandwiches\. I need to check out this new location. And all I can say is I hope the sandwiches are the same as they were on the Hill.
I am the “oh must be a phony review” Debra Deb. No, I don’t put my real name all over the internet. I have eaten at your Hill location and later in Rock Hill for several decades. As I said, whatever you were serving as bread for the Amighetti’s Special was terrible, soft, spongy, nowhere close to the crusty Italian bread you used to serve. That by itself ruined the experience, but then add in that you were really stingy with the sauce so that the sandwich was dry, yes, you were awesomely disappointing. Are you ever going to have decent bread again? Without that, you are no longer the best sandwich in town.
Great food, great service, friendly employees. Highly recommended.
We were driving across country and this establishment was recommended as a good sandwich shop that has been around since the early 1900s. The employees were friendly and personable and the establishment was clean. The roasted brussel sprouts were very good and I wish we had only ordered those. We also ordered a turkey special sub and the house specialty salad. The special sauce was highly recommended as a dressing and when I asked if there was any mayonnaise in it, 2 employees had differing answers. (I really dislike mayo) But since it was highly recommended, I asked for it on the side. When our order arrived, my salad was covered in the special sauce and I didn't request a new one. I wish I had just refused it. My husband's turkey sandwich was nothing special: a large hunk of OK bread, turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato and more special sauce. (He said the sauce was OK, but nothing great). After reading the menu I guess we thought the sandwich would've been toasted or made with a tasty bread, and the salad was definitely under whelming. As I said the brussel sprouts were excellent and the employees were great, just wish we could say the same about the other menu items we ordered.
