It is quite surprising to find a cathedral in a town of 10000 souls, particularly when you come from a town with 10 times more citizens and no cathedral. Everything was odd for me here, starting with the name of Saint whose church I have never encountered on my travels around Ireland, to remains of a wall next to the church with no data about. Though I have seen many cathedrals in my life, taking location of this one, it is grandiose building for Ballina and Mayo. I really enjoyed painted glass inside and would like to hear organ playing from a high balcony. It must be awesome.

Fabulous cathedral, beautiful and so lovely to sit and enjoy the peace.
You can feel the history and then take a moment to give thanks
If you like churches you will love this one. The graves and ruins right next door are worth seeing.
A beautiful church by the banks of the River Moy.
Beautiful Cathedral on the bank of the River Moy - a short walk to a choice of lovely coffee stops. Worth visiting.
Beautiful Cathedral set beside the River Moy️
Beautiful Cathedral, built in the 19th century. An adoration chapel is hidden away and accessed to the back of the building. Though it is a large structure, the heating system manages to heat the building to a certain level of warmth, year round. Certainly a building to be admired, given its architecture, beautiful stained glass windows and mosaics. The detailed tiling that is found throughout the cathedral is indicative of the craftsmen attention to detail, during the cathedrals early years. Much to be admired and a lot of maintenance, to ensure its survival into the future.
