Felt the place was abandoned. But behind the fortress there's a very good location to sit and spend time watching the elbe river.
Great place to spend a weekend with friends. We rented it for ourselves a couple of times and spend two nights there. I don't know if I would drive out there just to look at it. They were renovating the small cafe in April 2019. You can get coffee and cake. The women in the cafe were always very friendly and helpful.
Privately owned and operated old fort from 1869 protecting the entrance to the Elbe river. Nice destination for a bike tour. Open only in summer on Sundays and holidays. Takes about 30 minutes to explore. Restroom and a very small restaurant (coffee and cakes). Nominal 3 Euro admission fee.
A small fortress looking over river Elbe, gives an look inside how the life was.
