What an amazing place. Met up with friends and had a pic nic. There should be more toilets and no bins that we could see. But overall we took the rubbish home so no problem. Will definitely go again. Very clean and easy parking.

By it self place is nothing special. Great for simple walk but rather muddy after rain or during winter. Walk is primary between fields and by the river. It can be interesting as there is Ankerwycke Yew tree and remaining of the Nunnery but that is it. Parking is very limited. I like other site more where Magna Carta monument is actually located.
I love it here. The Ankerwyke tree is here as is a medieval monastery ruins (only a small bit is left). Great place to walk dogs. Can also walk by the river. However there are cows at various times of the year and occasionally a bull so you need to be aware when with dogs. Also it is not really disability friendly. Wheelchair users would not be able to enter as there are gates that a wheelchair would not get through. There may be other entrances though that I am unaware of. There are no facilities here e.g loo, cafe or swings. But it is very pretty and peaceful.
A Chinese retailer bought the island 4 years ago, very historical place to go and great view. If you plan to go to Winsor or just arrived at Heathrow, it is convenient for you to visit the place.
I visited recently, its a beautiful, historic location with lots of valuable history which is actually amazing to see first hand. The area has gorgeous scenery overlooking a lake, very quiet but with local pubs and riverside bars to enjoy the view. Its a worthwhile trip and a good chance to see a glimpse of the past, I would definitely go back. Also got to enjoy a wonderful dinner in the dining room, the decor is very authentic with lots of original historic artworks.
Had a lovely outing with my fellow employees, on Magna Carta Island. We went on a beautiful boat ride along the river, with truly gorgeous views. Such a serene and graceful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for someone else. The bottle of Champagne was also a divine touch ;).
I had such a lovely evening at Magna Carta Island with my employees. The hospitality was amazing and the scenery was absolutely outstanding! I would definitely recommend visiting this lovely island if your'e looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway.
