Went into the ER with severe abdominal pain. The staff was kind, courteous and professional. I wholeheartedly recommend.

I think they take advantage of the health care system. I went there for a Covid test. I asked from the Hospital front door and they told me the Covid test is carried out here. I was in no emergency situation. I did not care that much for the test. They got me in without getting any information. Once I was inside the room and they have started the process they got my information. I thought it is a formality since they did not ask at first Then they send me a 514 bill telling me we thought your insurance would cover it. Let's say the insurance did cover it. If the bill is so high, why accept a non-emergency patient for emergency bill? I think these are the ones who are responsible for our broken health care system. For our high insurance cost and inability to cover people. Instead of telling me if you are in no emergency situation, you can go somewhere else. Or this might be your bill. Are you willing to pay for it? I did not even wanted my insurance to cover it if they did.

They don’t believe your symptoms. Staff is nice but they need to try better at figuring out things. Went 2 times in a row and they found nothing; then I ended up in an ER in NY and there they found what I had in one visit. Fast-forward 3 years, I went 4 times in 1 month with back and head pain, and high blood pressure. They found nothing again. My Pressure keeps going to 170-100 and yet they insist it’s caused by muscular pain.

The representative working at this desk tonight (July 12) has the professionalism and bed side manner as a wooden nail. I have been in other areas of this hospital and this experience leaves me very disappointed and frustrated. If this matter was not so serious I would stay home an self treat. Thumbs down Stamford hospital emergency, thumbs down!!!!

So I went to emergency room on 3/9 because I was having heart palpitations and my foot was numb. Long story short, after almost 5 hours in the ER, turns out they couldn't find anything wrong with my heart and that was a relief. But I did have a bladder infection. The attending Dr said, that once they get the final results someone would call me and also prescribe medication. So it's now 3/11 and I still have not received a call. Upon contacting the emergency room, the person on the other end of the phone asked me why I was calling. I explained and told him what the attending Dr said. I was then told by the emergency room person, that my test was still pending and as soon as they get the results they would call me. Really!? so what about the pain in my bladder!?...Ugh!! I just booked an appointment with my primary Dr. for today...

I am not sure what to think of this place. They had misdiagnosed me with a mental illness while involuntarily being held in South 1. I was threatened that if I were to decline taking the meds and to use my right to leave after 72 hour hold; I would be placed under a court mandated monthly injection of drugs that made me restless and unable to sit or think (akathisia), caused indigestion, and tardive dyskensia (muscle spasms). I would also like to mention that I received no notice or documentation that these side effects would occur; in fact, they "did not believe" me and plotted that it was a figment of my imagination when I reported these issues. To this day long after stopping them, my muscles twitch and sometimes they wont stop, it is an unnerving and gross feeling. Being bound and heavily deluded as well as paranoid while surrounded by at least a dozen people including police, nurses and techs was hell on Earth and by far my most terrifying experience I had ever had to think through, throughout the duration of my life. I would never wish that experience on anyone and it lasted for what felt like an eternity. Truthfully, they helped me stay safe however during my bout of depressive psychosis. The supervision was nice and I learned new social skills from talking with the people there. My persisting side effects however were not worth it and I am genuinely frightened to imagine the amount of brain damage as well as damage to my musculoskeletal system the medicine had undoubtedly caused. Staying in the ward for almost a month last year totally impaired my habits and I am still struggling getting them back. I gained 30 pounds by the time I left the ward from lack of exercise and other meaningful ways to spend my time. I was more than likely in worse shape leaving than before entering.

As a physician, to be a patient is a totally different experience for me. They had a great service, friendly and helpful. Thank you for the assistance (Sarah, PA and the whole crew)
